How did Genghis Khan transform Asia, and what was his legacy?
Thesis:
Genghis Khan rose to power in the early thirteenth century, when the Steppes of Eastern Asia (Now Mongolia) was just a home for nomadic tribes who raided each other for glory, women, and loot. Genghis Khan was determined to unite Asia, and he actually succeeded. First of all, Genghis Khan ruled his government with meritocracy, which means to have a government or the holding of power by people selected on the basis of their ability, not due to royal family bloodlines. Secondly, Genghis Khan was able to make his people listen to him because he strived for a better lifestyle for all, and he made sure his people lived peaceful lives in Mongolia. Lastly, he gave the freedom of religion to his supporters, and therefore, he gained many Christians, Muslims, and Catholics because they wanted to practice in what they believed. |
