Genghis Khan had many different goals in his lifetime, and they changed throughout his life. These are some of his most important of his goals.
One of his earliest goals was to unite the tribes of the Steppes, because he saw that neither of the many tribes improved in anyway beating each other senselessly, and he thought that if he could unite them all, their power would be very great. Later, when he had actually done this, he was correct, and his Mongol horde destroyed the surrounding groups of people, including the Xia Dynasty and the Jin Dynasty of China. Like that, began the rule of the Great Khan of Mongolia. Then, another goal entered the Khan’s mind. Because back Genghis Khan was still Temujin, he was abandoned by his tribe, and was looked down upon by others because he wasn’t royal and didn’t have a father. So, when he gained power he remembered his suffering, he proclaimed that everyone would be equal, not based on bloodlines. Slowly, he gained a good reputation as a fair ruler, not a tyrant. The final goal of Genghis Khan was the most crazy and absurd of all: To rule the Universe. Genghis Khan had this idea for a long time, because “Genghis Khan” translates into english, “Universal Ruler”. It may seem weird, but he had many reasons for him to believe it. Genghis Khan claimed that he had many dreams sent from Tengri, or “The god of eternal blue sky”, who told Genghis Khan that the world would one day kneel before him. Also, according to the world statistics at the time, he had the largest empire in the world (A record never broken), larger than the empires of Alexander the Great and Napoleon combined. He believed this theory until his death, and so did his next three generations. This idea helped him in the hardest times of his life, and gave courage to his descendants. These the the most important goals and visions of Genghis Khan, the greatest Khagan. |
